Women's History Month No. 15

So. Please, I invite you to acquaint yourself with, conjure on the extraordinary life of Nanye-hi a.k.a. Nancy Ward (1738-1822?), and give thanks that death spared her from having to move away from her homelands along with so many others of her Cherokee people [thanks to the workings of the U.S. Congress and President Andrew Jackson, who, incidentally, was born 245 years ago today. What a fierce, marvelous, heroic, dreadful and bona fide ethnic cleanser he was, man of his times that he was, hothead that he was.
Sheesh.
History can break your heart.
